No. 3 - How to “fit” it all in to a busy schedule
Life these days is pretty hectic for us all and taking on additional commitments such as a new fitness plan can be challenging to fit into a busy work-life schedule.
Utilising even 30 minutes of your time a day to prioritise your fitness can have huge benefits and ultimately help you to achieve your goals. Here’s how I’ve been able to incorporate my fitness plan into a very busy full-time working day.
Utilising my lunch break
I know, I found it very easy in the past to work through lunch, eating at my desk (grabbing something quick and easy at the work/local café), and not taking the time to step away from my screen or digest my food properly.
Since starting my fitness journey, I’ve committed to using my lunch break for me, and this is what I’ve learnt so far:
Having a break from my screen, makes me so much more work productive in the afternoon. I’m more energised and focused to carry out the tasks I need to do, avoiding the temptation to head to the office café mid-afternoon to buy a sugary energy pick me up.
If you’re lucky enough to have a gym at work or close by, it’s a great opportunity to do your workout at lunch and have your evening free.
Taking a walk or run by yourself or with colleagues is also a great way to get some extra steps in at lunchtime and enjoy the fresh air
Using the lunchtime break to listen to podcast is a brilliant way to motivate you on your fitness journey when you are on a rest day
